Liam was very excited to see the ice when he woke up this morning. He wanted to go outside to play in it...whatever that meant. He knew that we had to have breakfast first. While we were having breakfast the power went out. After breakfast we headed out. It turns out he wanted to play by knocking down a bunch of ice and then he insisted on cleaning up the branches that had fallen of the trees. We did this for a while in the pouring rain. Once I was soaked through I told him it was time to go inside.
We spent most of the rest of the day playing games, playing on our new gymnastics rings and hanging out with Clara.
On a day like today I was very thankful for having a generator. Not having power for 11 hours with as much rain as we had would have resulted in water in the basement. Although today was the only time we have used our generator, it was worth every penny (and much more).
