We had another go with the swimming lessons today. We've been talking about it all week in order to prepare Liam for going into the pool on his own. His instructor came to get him and he followed her without any trouble. He got into the pool and seemed happy enough. He wasn't doing much of what he was being asked to do but he was alright with being in the pool. When the instructor tried to give Liam some individual attention he started to get a little nervous and shortly thereafter he began to cry. He got out of the pool and started to run towards me. Do you remember that rule about not running on the pool deck? Liam discovered why that rule exists. During his run he slipped and fell. He didn't hurt himself but he was still crying. I did manage to settle him down a bit and the supervisor on the deck tried to bring Liam back to the class. He wanted no part of it. Following the swim lesson Liam and I went into the pool for about 45 minutes.
It looks like the individual swimming lessons aren't for Liam just yet. We've switched him back into the parent assisted lessons for next week.

Great rink! Is it very large? Liam looks pretty confident on his skates. Getting ready for the canal.

Unfortunately the rink is very small. It's a good size for Liam but that's about it.
so, not to be critical or anything, but that doesn't look very much like swimming...
It's winter swimming (also known as skating).
