Great Holidays

The holidays started out a little rough for us. On December 23 Emily started with the stomach flu. Luckily it only lasted about a day. By the evening of the 24th, Liam had received Emily's early gift. Christmas day was pretty low key here. Emily was feeling a fair bit better but Liam was in rough shape. By the next day things started to improve a great deal.

We did our visiting early on. It was great to see everyone and the visits were very low key. After the festivities we  came home with no plans at all. It was great. We played, did a bunch of odd jobs and just generally had a good time. It was so nice to be able to just hangout with no real schedule. I look forward to my semester off when we'll have 7 months to just hang out and do whatever.

One of the best parts of the holidays was the addition of a piano to our household. I had originally hoped to get a piano for the family for Christmas, but I didn't find the kind of deal I was looking for.  Two days ago I found it. I brought the piano home and everyone loves it. The kids enjoy playing it, Sarah enjoys really playing it and I'm having a blast learning how to play. The kids even love watching us play. In fact, Liam has been asking "Daddy, don't you need to do your piano lesson?". It's good that he will keep me on track. I look forward to the days when we can sit around the piano and sing songs. I guess we did that today but my playing was less than stellar. It can only get better from here (I hope). As a side note, if you want to learn to play the piano or the guitar I highly recommend the Garage Band tutorials.
