To The Cottage

Not surprisingly we haven't seen any boats go through the locks near our house. Liam would ask everyday if we could go to see if we could see some boats. Who would have thought that there wouldn't be any boats going through the locks mid-week in May and June. We took him down a number of times but luck just wasn't on our side.

We were getting ready to head to the cottage and decided that we would stop a little more than halfway at the locks in Gamebridge. We had our lunch and much to our surprise we hadn't seen any boats yet. We always see boats going through the locks here. Just as we were finishing our lunch we saw a boat making its way toward the lock so we decided to stay. As that boat was going through the lock another came from the other direction. Since Liam had waited so long to see a boat 'locking' we decided to stay and watch the second boat. As the second boat was making it's way through the lock a third boat approached from the opposite direction. I figured we had been there long enough and that it was time to go. Liam insisted that we stay. So we did. If you've never seen a boat go through a set of locks before it's not a very quick process. If Liam were on Four Square he definitely would have been the mayor of the Gamebridge locks that day.

We've been a the cottage for about a week and a half. The weather hasn't been great but we've been having a lot of fun. Liam fell a few days ago and sprained his wrist pretty badly. Unfortunately, he falls on it again everyday.  Hopefully it will heal soon.

Emily loves being outside and enjoys walking (assisted) on the beach and in the water. She's only eaten the sand once so far. I'm sure that will change in the not too distant future.
