Yesterday afternoon we set the tent up in the backyard. I was hoping that Liam and I would be able to spend the night in it. As the afternoon went on Liam kept saying that he didn't want to sleep in the tent. After supper it was time to get ready bed. As we were getting ready Liam kept talking about sleeping in the tent. We gathered everything that we needed and headed out. I fully expected that we would be making our way back into the house later on. As it turns out Liam had a blast in the tent.
Sleeping in a tent in the backyard was a good learning experience. I learned that trying to go to sleep when it's still light out = bad idea. Because it's so light out at 7:30 Liam had no interest in sleeping. He didn't start settling down until about 9:00. I guess that's why campfires are so popular.
Lesson #2: Don't set the tent up so far away from the house that you're at the extreme range of the wi-fi. I originally thought that once Liam went to sleep I would get caught up on email, etc. I guess Liam's late night decreased the need for wi-fi.
The night was good. We did get rained on but Liam didn't notice and everything stayed nice and dry. During the night Liam kicked off his sleeping bag. When he woke up in the morning he was quite chilled. Other than that it was a great night. Can't wait to do it again.
