Crazy Internet Idea #2 February 2010: Develop a professional blog to post ideas about teaching and things that I've done at school. This idea itself wasn't so crazy. The crazy part is trying to attract readers so that the blog becomes more meaningful and/or useful. How do you attract readers? I'm afraid the only real answer is social media. I've avoided social media for a long time because I don't want it to take over my life. I quite enjoy my real life and don't really need a fake one. In any case about a week ago I created a Twitter account. You can follow me at http://twitter.com/DaveLanovaz my guess is that in a year from now I'll be asking myself "What was I thinking?"
I haven't been able to sleep much this week likely because of all this social media stuff running through my head and all kinds of things that I'm busy doing at work. It's probably just as well. Both kids have been sick for the week. Neither of them are very sick. They have runny noses and coughs but other than that they seem fine. Liam's been awake a lot over the past couple of nights. I've noticed that his vocabulary has really improved. When he talks in his sleep he speaks in full sentences! Does anyone know what the milestone for that is? I want to see if he's ahead or behind?
