School Blues

Liam loves learning. As a family we try to foster an environment of curiosity. Liam seems to thrive in this environment.

Liam dislikes going to school very much. The past week or more he has cried everyday at school. Sometimes for just a short time, other times for most of the morning. We talk about school an awful lot. We try to talk about the fun things he does at school. Liam likes to talk about the things he doesn't like to do. He focuses on being away from Sarah and Emily. We focus on being with his teacher and other kids.

Things seem to be getting better very slowly, but I think we have a long way to go. I sure hope that his dislike of school doesn't turn into a dislike of learning.

This little phase will pass, probably more quickly than you think! Liam is a lively, curious, intelligent little boy with so much potential. A few tears in junior kindergarten are not uncommon when a child comes from such a well-loved, nurturing environment. The transition from being one of two children to being one of twenty is not always easy. Liam will rise to the occasion with the wonderful support you give him at home, and with the guidance of a sensitive, loving teacher. Give it a little time. You'll be telling a different story before you know it!
From,
Well....I guess you know who!

You're right he will do fine, but it may take a little time. This week has been much better. Here's hoping we're heading in the right direction.
